Barbara is a private consultant specializing in training and coaching. Her areas of expertise include customer service, developing office and staff professionals, and instilling professionalism and mutual respect in the workplace. She ensures behavior change in participants by conducting creative, interactive classes designed to meet and support client goals.
Educated at William and Mary, Barbara has had a varied career within office administration, marketing, training, consulting, motivational speaking, and instructional design. In addition to 17 years in the private sector, she worked nine years for the City of Phoenix Personnel Department, Employee Development Division. Some of the key assignments under her responsibility were the city-wide customer service training effort, pre-supervisory curriculum, and the office professional development program.
Barbara served as an elected official of the Governing Board of Sun City West, chairing both the Public Relations and the Human Resources committees. These positions provided a wealth of knowledge about what works and what does not work in the areas of public service and employee relations.
A past president of the Rhode Island Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development, Barbara is also a recipient of the City of Phoenix’s prestigious City Manager’s Excellence Award.
Although retired from the classroom, Barbara continues to serve AGTS as a curriculum consultant in her specialty areas.
